From Paris to the Podium: Nnadozie Nominated for 2025 Ballon d’Or
Nigerian shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie continues her meteoric rise in world football, earning a nomination for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy France Football’s prestigious award recognizing the best goalkeepers globally, presented during the annual Ballon d’Or ceremony.
At just 24 years old, Nnadozie has firmly established herself as one of the most reliable and consistent goalkeepers on the international stage. Her journey is defined by standout performances and a growing collection of accolades that speak volumes of her talent and work ethic.
She was named CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, cementing her dominance across the continent. During the 2023/2024 season with Paris FC Féminines, Nnadozie’s form was nothing short of spectacular, earning her the title of Best Goalkeeper of the Season in the French Division 1 Féminine League.
And the accolades didn’t stop there.
At the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held last month, she once again proved her class, claiming the Golden Glove and being crowned Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament for her stellar contributions to the Super Falcons.
Now based in England, Nnadozie’s nomination for the Yachine Trophy places her in elite company, alongside:
- Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany)
- Cata Coll (Spain)
- Hannah Hampton (England)
- Daphne van Domselaar (Netherlands)
Each nominee has made a significant impact over the past year, and Nnadozie’s inclusion is a testament to her world-class consistency and presence in goal.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on 22 September, with announcements of nominees in other categories unfolding throughout the day.
