Onyinyechi Basil, proudly representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025. The 25-year-old beauty queen emerged victorious at the national competition’s grand finale in Lagos on Saturday night, outshining 21 other contestants to succeed outgoing queen Chidimma Adetishina.

Speaking shortly after her coronation, Basil said, “I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.” With this win, she will go on to represent Nigeria on the global stage at Miss Universe 2025.

Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, was named first runner-up, while Bayelsa’s Fortune Kurobo and Ogun’s Irene Ikediashi finished as second and third runners-up, respectively.
