Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi has won the Player of the Year trophy at the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held in Rabat, Morocco.

The Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco full-back beat top contenders Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Victor Osimhen of Nigeria, the 2023 winner, to claim the prestigious award.

In the women’s category, Morocco and Al-Hilal star Ghizlaine Chebbak also stood out as she secured the African Women’s Player of the Year title.

Nigeria delivered an impressive performance this year. Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Nigerian and Brighton goalkeeper, claimed the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time, outperforming South Africa’s Andile Dlamini and Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi.

Nigeria also won the Women’s National Team of the Year, reaffirming the Super Falcons’ dominance on the continent.
